We are a California based company that seeks to bring the best quality clothing and silver jewelry that India has to offer directly to your doorstep.
We sell at the designer's Indian MRP(Manufacturer's retail price). Customs duties are the responsibility of the buyer. As per our contract with our designers, we do not do returns or exchanges.
We are the official store of Sabyasachi Couture, Calcutta, and Amrapali, Jaipur, in the U.S. We focus on bringing Sabyasachi garments and Amrapali jewels to a discerning audience so that we can offer the best service and selection.
Are those the only designers you work with?
We also work with a few other designers -- Soumitra Mondal, Rahul Mishra, and Poonam Bhagat because these designers match our aesthetic sensibilities.
To be able to offer variety to our clients and also stay true to our mission of bringing the best of India to your doorstep and promoting India's rich heritage, we work with several other designers on small pop up collections. We also source beautiful ethnic sarees like kanjeeveram silks, kantha sarees and many more directly from the weavers. You can find these products on our facebook page as well as here from time to time.
Yes, most certainly. Depending on whether it is in production or not, we can take an order or request the item from the designer in case they have a ready piece. Any custom garment ordered from a designer cannot be returned or exchanged and the contractual terms have to be fulfilled before delivery.
Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping charges vary upon location. We use USPS, UPS, Fedex and DHL to ship internationally. Customs duties are the responsibility of the buyer.
You can view our limited online collection in our online shop. We do have more pieces in store and you can contact us at email@example.com to make an inquiry. We would be glad to assist.
Note: As you are browsing, and enjoying our highly curated merchandise, please call our stylist Neel at 1-650-283-6565 to help you complete the order online or over the phone.
We do not have an in house tailor. However, we have an independent tailor who we've been working with for several years. We would be glad to recommend her to our clients for high quality tailoring. Her name is Smitha. Her phone number is 1-408-888-1697. She is located in Sunnyvale, CA.
For many pieces, the designer will include stitching in the price of the garment. For more information, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We do not cover alterations. We recommend those in need to either contact a local tailor or send the merchandise back to the designer who will alter the garments for you and send them back to you.
It depends. 6 to 8 weeks is a good estimate but it depends of many factors like the immediate availability of the garment in the India stores, the intricacy of the garment, and the season. We would recommend contacting us if you need something delivered on a tight schedule. We can try to work something out.
We have a measurement video which we would gladly share with you. We will also share a measurement form with you. Should you need assistance taking measurements, we can set up a virtual fitting appointment via skype or facetime. You'll need a friend/family member and a measuring tape. If you are local in the bay area, we recommend visiting Smitha for measurements. She charges $20 and does a very good job. We recommend taking your measurements every 3 weeks and sending in the revised measurements because measurements are bound to change as our bodies change. To assist in more accurate measurements, we would also recommend video recording and/or taking pictures of the measurements being taken. It helps the designers greatly. It is not easy stitching a perfect fitting garment remotely. We find the above helps greatly in reducing the need for alterations.
